Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how LedgerLumen ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when small businesses use our bookkeeping software and related bank connection features.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide or authorize through the app, including business profile details, bookkeeping records, customer and project records, invoices, receipt records, proof files, reports, workspace settings, bank account details, authorized transaction details, sync status, and support records.
Bank Connections and Stripe
We use Stripe Financial Connections to let you securely connect financial accounts. When you connect an account, Stripe presents the permission screen and handles bank sign-in directly. LedgerLumen does not see or store your bank password.
Stripe may process your information according to Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.
How We Use Information
- Operate bookkeeping workflows, reports, imports, receipt tracking, invoice tracking, and tax-readiness views.
- Sync authorized bank data and bookkeeping records across your LedgerLumen workspace.
- Maintain security, troubleshoot errors, improve reliability, and support users.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and security obligations.
Where Data Is Stored
Financial and workspace data is stored in the United States using hosted infrastructure. Some low-risk UI preferences may also be stored locally on your device.
Sharing Information
We share information only as needed to provide and operate the app, including with Stripe for bank connections, Cloudflare for hosting and storage, service providers needed for security and operations, or when required by law.
Your Choices and Controls
- You can choose whether to connect a bank account.
- You can continue using manual records and CSV imports without bank sync.
- You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. Private service credentials are kept out of the browser experience. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to reduce risk and limit access to sensitive data.
Tax and Professional Advice
LedgerLumen organizes bookkeeping records and planning context. It does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and it does not replace a CPA, tax preparer, enrolled agent, attorney, or bookkeeper.
Contact
Questions can be sent to [email protected]. Do not send bank passwords, full account numbers, or private documents by email unless support provides a secure upload path.
